Signal Survey Privacy Policy

1. Information the app handles

• Location: used to place measurements on maps and reports. While recording, location is used in the background so recording continues with the screen off (a notification is shown).
• Wi-Fi information: SSID, BSSID, signal strength, channel and link rate of the connected and nearby access points.
• Cellular information: carrier name, network type (4G/5G NR), cell identifiers, signal strength and quality, bands. Phone numbers, calls and SMS are never accessed.
• Photos: floor-plan images you choose in indoor mode.
• GPS and sensors: satellite count and signal, speed and heading, air pressure, recorded to show how reliable each position is.
• Your input: report details (project, location, surveyor, notes) and record names.

2. Storage

All of the above is stored only on your device and is never sent to our servers. There is no account, no advertising and no analytics. If you choose Google Maps, Google's map component sends usage data to Google (see 3).

3. Network connections

• Maps: map images are loaded from a map provider (in Japan, GSI tiles from the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan; elsewhere MapTiler, using OpenStreetMap map data), which receives the map area shown and your IP address as with any web request. GSI tiles you have viewed are kept on the phone (up to 300 MB, clearable in settings) so they still show without signal. PDF report maps also use GSI tiles.
• Google Maps (only when chosen): if you pick "Google Maps" or "Google satellite" as the map type, the map is drawn by Google's Maps SDK for Android, which sends Google the map area shown, map interactions (panning, zooming), device model and OS, SDK crash reports, your IP address and a pseudonymous SDK identifier. Google uses this to provide and improve its services (Google Privacy Policy). Your measurements and location history are not sent. With the GSI map, none of this is sent.
• Throughput test: only when you tap "Run test" or turn on "Repeat the speed test while recording", data is exchanged with Cloudflare speed-test servers (about 30 MB over cellular). Over Wi-Fi it also pings the connected router and Cloudflare's public DNS (1.1.1.1) for the congestion check; these probes carry no data.
• Latency probes: while recording, a tiny request (about 1 KB) every 5 seconds to the same servers; can be turned off.

Neither sends your recorded measurements or location history.

4. Sharing

We do not share information with third parties. PDF reports and Excel files go only where you send them with the share button.

5. Deletion

Delete records and reports in the Reports tab. Uninstalling the app removes all data on the device.

6. Paid plans

Purchases are processed by Google Play. We do not receive your payment details.

7. Invite code requests (referral campaign)

If you request a Pro invite code from the referral campaign page, the request page sends us by email: company name, contact person, email address, device number (an 8-character number made inside the app, not a hardware serial or phone number) and the reference number in the link you opened, if any.

We use it only to issue a code for that phone, check the offer conditions (up to two phones per company, deadline) and reply to you. If you ask to be told when the app is released, we use your email address and company name only to send that one notice, then delete them. Only HitoWave holds it; we do not share it with anyone. We delete it one year after the code expires, or earlier on request.
